ABU DHABI AIRPORTS, ABU DHABI, UAE

SUSTAINABLE ART PROJECTS LLC won the contract in December 2017 to execute the Art Program of the spectacular Midfield Terminal at Abu Dhabi Airports, including more than 20 locations for suspended art, installations, sculptures, murals and paintings. We are in charge of reviewing the existing art program, to develop a masterplan of art at the airport, commissioning artists, including the production, shipment and installation of each art piece at its final location.
 JELMOLI DEPARTMENT STORE, ZURICH, SWITZERLAND

Leading Swiss department store Jelmoli brought a big splash of color to Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse with the support and development of the project by our Swiss business entity ART LEASING & INVEST AG and GALLERY ANDRES THALMANN. Jelmoli commissioned a large piece of public pop-up art by Ian Davenport. During façade renovations in 2016, Jelmoli Haus displayed Davenport's vibrant spring colours. Giardini Colourfall is one of the largest site-specific installations ever made by the British artist. In Collaboration with Galerie Andres Thalmann. 
VENICE BIENNALE, 2017, VENICE, ITALY

Giardini Colourfall is one of the largest site-specific installations ever made by the British artist, Ian Davenport. His inspiration came from the chromatic palette of the historical masterpieces by Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet and Pietro Perugino. As the main developer of this unique project, our Swiss entity, GALLERY ANDRES THALMANN, is delighted about this exciting artistic collaboration between Davenport, SWATCH and the art gallery. Extending over a 3.8 m x 14 m aluminum panel, this large-scale work consists in 1'000 colors poured down from the top, which pool together and merge at the base.
COCA COLA PAVILION, LONDON, ENGLAND

Under the supervision of our technical expert, AUGUST KELLER, and designed and built by Birdair's sister company Taiyo Europe. This interactive pavilion was constructed for the 2012 London Olympic games and can be played like a musical instrument: allowing visitors to make a musical collage of sporting sounds by touching parts of its structure. The sounds are embedded in 200 interlocking colored ETFE plastic pillows which are sensitive to movement and touch.
OASIS PRIVATE AIRPORT LOUNGE, BOGOTA, COLUMBIA

Helistar commissioned a new site-specific series of Katja Loher’sunique video pieces for Oasis, the private airport lounge in Bogota, Colombia. Katja Loher is uniquely represented by our Swiss entity, GALLERY ANDRES THALMANN. This project was realized in collaboration with the young Colombian architecture firm Cientoocho Architectura. The team was inspired by the concept of transfering the airport lounge into an Oasis, which can be experienced with all our senses: eyes, ears, nose and body.
YAS VICEROY HOTEL, ABU DHABI, UAE

The lounge of Yas Viceroy Hotel, Abu Dhabi, features a piece of art designed by André C. Meyerhans, a project commissioned by PF Emirates in 2013 and executed as an artist competition by our Middle Eastern art consultant, KURT BLUM.
The artwork in the hotel stretches across the reception area in a smoothly curved panorama. The 10 m x 1.4 m x 0.14 m piece of kinetic art explores a contemporary way of traditional, Islamic patterns.
ROYAL PORTRAITS, AL BAHAR TOWERS, ABU DHABI, UAE

Three large-scale Portraits of the Abu Dhabi Royal family, were commissioned by the Al Bahar Towers. Research and Evaluation of the project were carried out, which culminated in a Proposal featuring the most renowned Royal Portrait Painter.  These custom portraits and framing work to fit the interior of the lobby area of the Towers. This is one of the biggest large-scale portrait projects in Abu Dhabi. Pencil on paper, by Masood Parvez, L 144 cm x H 149 cm each. Carried out by Swiss Art Gate UAE.
SWISS PAVILION, 2010, SHANGHAI, CHINA
This project involved the development of the breathtaking interactive façade, conceptualized by Buchner BründlerArchitekten, and included prototyping, development for production, and installation on site at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Our team worked as General Contractor, from Design Development until Handover to the client. This included engineering, design-to-cost, project management, procurement, cost management, HSE, and execution on site in collaboration with local and foreign companies.
FALCON PRIVATE BANK, ABU DHABI, DUBAI, SINGAPORE, HONG KONG, LONDON, GENEVA, ZURICH

Curation, art Logistics, transportation and installation of worldwide art projects for the Abu Dhabi owned Falcon Private Bank for their locations in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London, and Geneva.The project included complex art logistics and customs handling on an international level. The team also engaged in efficient art masterplanning, production and art selection tasks. In Collaboration with Galerie Andres Thalmann.

SWISSGRID, AARAU, SWITZERLAND

Here, an art intervention interacts directly with the architectural concept. The project is a large-scale immersive installation addressing contemporary concerns regarding energy, the digital world, modern society and sustainability.
